So the tale of a million colors continues as I tag you along with me on my travels through Morocco…
First stop : Essaouira
Essaouira is the main scene of Morocco’s southwest coast.
With its stunning golden beaches, huge turfs and gale force winds, it is every wind or kite-surfer’s paradise.
The harbor in Essaouira is absolutely amazing!
I spent the afternoon walking around just snapping away.
However, my best possible memory from Essaouira (which won’t come as a surprise) is the sunset!
I can never get tired of watching sunsets – just sitting there pondering about life and enjoying nature at its best.
I thought to share a couple of things that are worth doing while visiting Essaouira :
Have a bite or ice cream at Place Moulay Hassan. Popular spots include Café France or Gelateria Dolce Freddo.
For shopping, the main souks are on Avenue de l’Istiqual and Avenue Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah, and laden with everything from handwoven carpets to kaftans.
The beach life is superb.
The Atlantic winds offer great conditions for surfing and windsurfing. Outside Vagabond, you can hire horses, camels and quads for beach rides or rides to the surrounding countryside and to historic sites.
It’s not Miami, but the friendly locals & beautiful surroundings will make for a memorable stay.
Here’s a mini gallery of my excursions!
Thanks for popping in
