Often conveniently ‘factory-produced’ (usually in overly eye-catching packaging), it comes as no surprise that their ascension from make-shift health-fix to mass-market lifestyle fuel has made them one of the most consumed “new-age” beverages amongst sportsmen and health conscious individuals.

This said, smoothies have the advantage of containing non negligible amounts dietary fiber (present in the pulp, skin and seeds of fruit or grains) and their thicker consistency, in comparison to other beverages, means they better enhance feelings of satiety – a plus for the weight conscious amongst us!
